Happy Guy Fawkes Day!
Day of fireworks, bonfires and flag burning on this fine night.
Celebrates the opening of parliament when Catholics tried to blow up Parliament and were stopped.

those catholics, can't trust them as far as you can throw em.
that's odd, why did they try to blow it up?
Because they want to rule everyone. With their pedo ways.
I'm guessing because you're also from NZ, you know about this, right?

because they disliked protestants Christians.
It's a night where we celebrate the failure of the gunpowder plot by burning bonfires and fireworks.
In some towns they have the annual pope burning to celebrate the banishing of the catholics from their town, and also burning flags - most popular ones are the French and Irish flags (Catholic republicans) - something that is thankfully dying out.

Well either it's "Thanksgiving" or "Guy Fawkes" - obviously the delights of burning a pope appealed to more people lol.

Because of the Protestant King - they (the Catholics) lost influence and wanted a Catholic as head of state.
Did the Catholics try starting a Catholic party and work to gain polotical popularity?
Catholics wouldn't have been allowed to do that at the time (it was in 1605), people who were openly catholic in Britain weren't allowed to be involved in parliament (though a few 'closet'/crypto-catholics like Henry Howard were tolerated in the court as James 1 required them for support), they weren't even allowed to live in certain places (i.e. London), were fined/ arrested if they didn't go to Protestant services and often killed if they harboured priests/ bishops (like Margaret Clitherow). Anyway, many of the gunpowder conspirators wouldn't have been of high enough social standing to have done anything even if they hadn't been catholic, for the most the people who had influence in parliament had to be of noble birth. Something like the Gun Powder plot was bound to happen eventually given the circumstances.
if Jesus was really anything but a dead jewish guy he'd have sent down some heavy smiting and burnt all these so called christian fuckers (protestants and catholics both) to a crisp long ago. or at least come down to earth in human form once again just to straighten everything out.

Well you can hardly blame the Catholics for doing that?! how the fuck can someone celebrate that?! they were being severly oppressed, it's not so much as a terrorist attack as an attempt at freedom through force and violence because people were too pig headed to have an open mind, it's always been like that with religion only someone finally took charge and aimed at making an enourmous step at changing the catholic way of life at the time. The catholics, had they seized political power, they would have probably done the same thing to the protestants but the fact of the matter is, can anyone blame them for what they did? I don't think so.

Well Bloodly Mary was a Catholic and discriminated against her protestants subjects. Both sides were guilty of displaying some form of discrimination.
