Just outside the village in the forest a young adventurer had just slain a troll with his trusty broadsword. Mounting his steed he started for the tavern back in the village for a well deserved tankard of ale.
A terrible wail stopped his horse in its tracks and he looked around to see a beautiful banshee standing a short distance to his right. She was dressed in a white gown and had a sad look upon her face.
"Please, you must help!", she cried. "What's the problem?", he asked her. "The child! She's in danger!", she cried and pointed to a clearing in the forest where a young maiden was standing face to face with a ferocious lion with only a few yards between them.
He withdrew his sword from its scabbard and sped off to rescue the girl. Just as the lion was about to attack, he thrust out his sword and stuck it right through the lion's neck. The lion immediately dropped down and died.
He removed his sword from the lifeless lion, walked over to the girl and picked her up in his arms. She was sobbing and he comforted her until she stopped weeping.
The banshee came over and said "Oh noble hero, you have saved the child! What do you want as your reward?" He looked her over and admired her frame in the tight fitting gown. He looked into her eyes and smiled. "Well", he said, "how about you?" The banshee blushed and looked down. He put his hand under her chin and lifted her face to his and kissed her passionately.
They took the child back to the village and there was much rejoicing. That night a banquet was held in the hero's honor and everyone feasted and drank.
When the sun rose the following morning the town awoke to find the hero had left to pursue another adventure.
