My ISP limits the amount that I can download every month. Maybe other people's ISPs do the same? If a file is embedded with an AUTO PLAY code, then the entire file downloads automatically even after clicking the STOP button. So would you please embed a file with its NON AUTO PLAY code so that the entire file doesn't automatically download and play every time you view it? It will even re-download and play the file if you visit another page and then return to the same page with the embedded file. So you'll end up downloading the same file over and over again whether you wanted to or not. Same thing applies for a video or any other type of file. Just a suggestion. Thank you.

you must have a really shitty isp, if they tried pulling that shit here in the U.S. we'd go and blow up their company headquarters, we don't put up with that shit

We also experienced in the past of these so call "capped rates" thankfully I can say that we are moving onto Naked Dsl. Unlimited and uncapped all for a fix monthly fee.
I suggest you found another ISP company.

Flicker do me a favor and blow up the American telecommunications companies. I'm surprised that it COST money to OPEN TEXT MESSAGES.

It's too late. Last month, I signed a two-year contract for an internet plan. It's very convenient, but there is a limit to how much I can download each month. I signed up just two days before the next billing cycle began and they charged me for the entire month even though I didn't use any of it for those two remaining two days.

hopefully one day everything will be unlimited, most isp's offer unlimited cell phone calls for $100 a month, in time that price will go down and we won't have to worry about those fucking "minutes"

and you have to sign a 2 year contract!
are you sure you didn't walk into their company, pull down your pants, bend over, and say "fuck me, and fuck me hard"?

Yeah it's already true for landline phones here. Unlimited calls to other landlines in New Zealand and also to 15 countries (1 hour though but you just hang up and call them again).
There are plans that allow unlimited calls between cells as long as they are with the same company but you are expected to nominate a number (up to 3 per plan) - there are unlimited calls within a cell company but this is usually for businesses.

I seriously hate contracts - the upfront costs look too good to be true but the monthly costs can fuck you in the ass LOL.

Over here the minimum is a year - but contract uptakes here are generally low as our prepay plans are sufficient.

i can't believe people are having to sign contracts to get internet. god i haven't heard of that since like 1993

Sadly it's the norm here :(
I guess because the ISP need 2 years to squeeze as much money off the consumers.

Prepaid plans are more convenient. I use a prepaid cell phone because I don't use it that much. It saves me a bundle.

Me too - I used to be on a contract and I realised that I got to a point where I was paying more than I was using. Minutes and texts would expired as I don't use them.
So I moved onto a prepay plan. I like the fact that I PAY what I USE. Though there are drawbacks as contracts get slightly better call rates than prepay.

If you use it alot, then postpaid plans are probably better. But if you don't, then prepaid plans are the way to go.

sounds to me like you need a larger capacity per month Abs who are you with. Im with Optus and have a 60g dload per month before shaping. I joined this plan a long time ago and am not affected by upload stats you have to be careful of that Telstra and optus both count your uploads as part of your total monthly allowance.

O_o sorry I didn't quite get you.. you get allocated 60Gb a month? Wow I don't even use half that LOL.

I'm reluctant to give the name of my ISP because I don't want to influence people one way or the other. It's a wonderful company that provides great service. The only problem being the monthly download and upload limit. As time goes by, I think they will increase this limit.
